About Atlanta Tech Talks
What We Do
Atlanta Tech Talks is a monthly meetup for tech enthusiasts in the Atlanta area. We cover software development, hardware engineering, data science, cybersecurity, AI/ML, cloud computing, startups, and hands-on workshops. If it involves technology, it's fair game.
We've been around since 2011, and after a brief hiatus we're back and meeting regularly.
Format
- When: Every 3rd Thursday of the month
- Doors: 6:00 PM
- Content: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Wrap-up: By 8:00 PM
- Where: Manny's Tavern, 580 Woodward Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
Topics rotate monthly. Sometimes it's a presentation, sometimes it's a hands-on workshop, sometimes it's a group discussion. We keep it informal and interactive.
Who Shows Up
Software developers, hardware engineers, data scientists, cybersecurity folks, startup founders, students, and anyone curious about technology. All skill levels are welcome. You don't need to be an expert — just interested.
The Venue
We meet at Manny's Tavern in Grant Park. It's a cozy neighborhood bar with burgers, sandwiches, wings, cocktails, and beer. No reservations needed. Budget around $10–20 for food and drinks.
Address: 580 Woodward Ave SE UNIT C, Atlanta, GA 30312

Want to Present?
We're always looking for speakers and topics. If you have something you'd like to share with the group — a project, a tool, a technique, a lesson learned — reach out. Talks can be anywhere from a 10-minute lightning talk to a full hour-long deep dive.
Want to Sponsor?
We run on good vibes and community generosity — there's no membership fee and no ticket price. If you'd like to support the group, here's what sponsorship looks like:
- Buy a round: Cover some food, drinks, or snacks for the group.
- Provide a giveaway: Books, swag, gift cards, gadgets — attendees love it.
- 5-minute spotlight: Tell the group about your company, product, or open roles at the start of the meetup.
- Event page placement: Your name/logo on the event listing and resources page for that month.
No hard sell, no pressure. Just a chance to get in front of 10–30 engaged local tech folks in a relaxed setting. Reach out if you're interested.
Want to Host?
We're always looking for interesting new venues. If you have a space that can comfortably host a group of up to 30–40 people (but won't feel empty if only 10 show up), we'd love to hear from you. Bars, offices, co-working spaces, maker spaces — we're open to anything with seating and a screen or projector.
Hosting is a great way to introduce your space to the local tech community. No long-term commitment required — even a one-time hosting works.
History
Atlanta Tech Talks was originally founded in August 2011 as a group on Meetup.com. Over the years we hosted talks and workshops on everything from mobile development to 3D printing to architectural katas. After a hiatus, the group was revived in August 2024 by one of the original Meetup.com hosts with "Atlanta Tech Talks LIVES!" and has been meeting monthly since.
